Tyres, batteries, wipers, bulbs, balancing, tracking - the regular maintenance items that don't need a workshop in their own right but still need doing properly. New and part-worn tyres in stock, batteries to suit any car, and a free check while you're in for anything else.
Honest tyres, honest prices.
Tyres are the only part of the car actually touching the road, so it's worth getting them right. Premium brands (Michelin, Continental, Goodyear) genuinely outperform on wet braking and tread life - if the budget allows, they're the better long-run buy. Mid-range from the same factories (Avon, Falken, Hankook) are the sensible everyday choice.
Genuinely good part-worn tyres have a place too, especially on older cars where a £400 set of new premium rubber is more than the car's worth. We only stock part-worns from a trusted supplier and we wouldn't fit anything we wouldn't run on a family car ourselves.
Batteries don't last forever - typically 5-7 years on a quality unit, less if the car does mostly short runs. Free battery test on every visit, replacement on the spot if yours has had it.
The other little jobs (wipers, bulbs, antifreeze, washer top-up) we'll spot during a service or MOT and flag any that are getting close to the limit.

Wheel balancing
Vibrations through the steering wheel at speed are usually unbalanced wheels. Five minutes on the balancer, sorted.

If the steering pulls, or the inside or outside edges are wearing faster than the centre, the alignment's out. Quick check, big payoff in tyre life.

Battery testing & replacement
Free battery test on every visit. If yours is past its useful life - typically 5-7 years - we can replace it on the spot with a battery to suit the car.

The little things that fail MOTs. We'll check, replace and bin off any that are due, often while you're in for a service.

Summer & winter checks
Seasonal once-over: tyre tread, wiper condition, antifreeze concentration, battery health, lights. Aimed at the run-in to summer holidays and the run-up to winter.

Tyre & battery FAQs.
1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, around the entire circumference. Below that and the car fails its MOT. We'd flag tyres heading towards 3mm so you can plan ahead - tread depth has a big effect on wet braking distances.
